Korolev Cross Werner Van Braun

I used to nerdgasm over the Soyuz spacecraft and rocket (and Buran, but how can you not??). And I was in the National Space Centre in the UK, and there would be a Soyuz right there in the main entrance, and the Russian national anthem would be blaring out of the speakers. It's all still there of course. My mom was one of the engineers tasked with designing Buran. Amazing thing that when it was assembled it did not fit the doors of the hanger in Moscow. So, they had to disassemble some of the wall as well. The thing was heavy, so they wanted to transport it across Moscow river to an airport where Mriya would pick it up. The asphalt road was not strong enough, so major "fixing" was undertaken, where cement blocks were put under near the road and rolled over with asphalt. Buran was then transported in tbe middle of the night on a huge platform with BTRs and tanks surrounding it. Good memories.

I made a mistake previously, Buran was not transported by Mriya the first time around, VM-T Atlant was used. She was and still is proud to have participated in it's creation. She was extremely sad when everything fell through and had to abandon the project. Buran had two ways for crew rescue: ejection and separation of actual Buran from the carrier (then landing by itself). It had an autopilot and was able to land by itself, which she was particularly proud of. Fun fact, the autopilot program was around 100 megabytes, that's a lot of space during that era and if I am to believe her and she wasn't messing with me the data was uploaded with the help of old school tapes and deck recorder (ala Commodore).

On a related note, the B52 is still a young whippersnapper compared to how long some ships used to stay in naval service. Part of the reason the Greek philosophers used a ship in their thought experiment is that wooden hulls can be (and usually are) continually renewed by maintenance crews, almost like a living creature replacing its cells. Because ships were so expensive, it was common to keep existing vessels in serviceable condition for generations. A shipwright could encounter a ship that his grandfather had worked on 60 years prior, and it wasn't that unusual.

Its also quite often that construction is more expensive than maintenance and upgrade. The only real reason to get a new one is if you need the new capability. Most older ships would be slowly relegated to less important services that probably wouldn't get a purpose built ship anyway.John Moses Browning was a mastermind of guns. Created the .30 cal, the .50 cal, the BAR, the Trench gun and also worked for Winchester. His guns have probably been sold in the tens of millions around the world, but unlike Kalashnikov, his guns are accurate, powerful and most of all, very suitable for their roles. The US military needed a bigger gun than the .30 cal, cause it wasn't cutting it. So Browning made the much bigger .50 cal, a gun capable of taking down tanks and planes while being used as a highly accurate gun as well.

35AH 12V DC Deepcycle Solar Energy Storage Battery Wholesale

Bought this for a portable solar generator kit that I take camping so I can have power in primitive campsites. 35 amp hours is PLENTY of power for charging the smartphone, running a 12 volt fan continuously for those hot days & nights in a nylon tent, using a 60 watt equivalent LED desk lamp at night (with an inverter, of course & only pulling 3 watts on the desk light) & powering a portable washing machine (on the same inverter). Some campsites I've been to, are "No Generators Allowed On Grounds", but this setup *is* allowed. I just call it a "Solar Panel" to get by their rules. Having been to places where some RV'ers run their gas generators WELL into the night past "quiet hours" (with loud mufflers on them or NONE at all) I can see why that rule applies. And when the wind is in the wrong direction, you have to smell the fumes from those gas powered monstrosities! Talk about the headache from... well, you know where!

Has some issues with the butterfingers at USPS dropping and damaging a couple of these, but Chrome Battery immediately sent out replacements. Understandably, it required sending a picture of the damage for insurance purposes, but there was no shortage of customer service. To make sure the last battery got to me undamaged, Chrome battery double boxed the one I got undamaged.
Used this to run a small trolling motor on my canoe, worked great, never drained it, but didn't go out for very long. Love that I can tip it over, get it wet, not worry about venting it when charging. You pay more, but LOVE the sealed batteries. Using it right now with a 60 watt solar panel in my basement (in winter) to run some misc chargers etc as a fun side project, but it handled the trolling motor on my canoe just fine and fit in the middle seat compartment. So far no complaints.

Keeping up just fine. Got our heater, tv and fridge on it and it seems fine. We wanted to go small and see how solar system works before going full solar support for most of the house. And well, I gotta say that I'm surprised how well it's keeping up with the main juice suckers of the house. Electric bill is down a bit, although we didn't use that much to begin with. But now that it's the holidays and cold, we should see a bigger difference over the next couple of weeks.

I should note that although this worked great in summer, for winter, we needed a bigger battery. A much bigger one, lol. We actually had to practice conservation of energy. It was a hard and interesting experience. Showed us how much we do rely on things. But when the power did go out, it was nice not to have to scramble for candles and flashlights. It was nice to continue watching our movie with the heat on, put on a pot of tea and eat leftovers. Even if one can't afford to go full solar, which we can't just yet - laundry, dishwasher, yikes - but it's still so awesome as a back up.

Cat Bug Me at Eye Level On the Toilet

I have one of those, too. She weighs 14.5 lbs. My scale has synchs with the fitness tracker app on my phone. She sits on the scale and stares at me. Then I get an alert saying that my latest weight is 14.5 lbs.She actually isn't fat, just BIG. She is just a big kitty! And STRONG. I watched her open the screen door the other day. got it cracked enough to get a paw out, then CHOOM!, door open, and she saunters out like the Queen of the Fiesta Deck.Batchelor, and when I come home from a long day at work, I'm normally sweating (it's been hot this summer and I don't leave the AC on when I'm gone, just the air) and shutting the door to my bathroom, even with the window open, makes it like a sauna.
My kitten has tried to stick his head between my legs while I was taking a dump. It wasn't cute when he was smaller and isn't any cuter at 6 months old. They don't like us to watch them. They like us to watch out for predators, and are looking at you because they're concerned that you aren't.actually it depends. The cat might be challenging the op. If the cat leaves the poop out and not try to cover it up then it cat saying "this is my place". Op should take a dumb a leave it in the toilet for the cat to see it

I have never seen my cat in the sink, even though it is constantly filled with her hair and has even begun to clog because of it. Even the toothpaste has her hair stuck on it if I leave the cap off (Gross? Maybe. But if she wants to brush her teeth cool with me). Yet I still can't catch her in the act...my social media feeds are now more cat pictures than anything else. it is as though walls of cat pictures are gradually closing-in on my interaction with the rest of the world.

I took my then 7-year-old son with me so he could pick out one for his birthday present. I told him that Siamese "talk a lot" and that he should make sure he gave her an Asian name so she would feel comfortable "talking" with us (family myth -- I know it's silly). He picked the Siamese and named her Sushi. When my son turned 25, I learned that he fully expected the cat to actually talk; that one day she would turn to him and say, "Hi Tipsanason! How ya doing?" I never asked how long it took him to give up that little fantasy.

Olympic Host Nation Brazil VS Germany's Glorious

Brazil will likely face Germany again in the finals. Germany is currently beating Nigeria 1-0 in the semi finals, and Brazil is already in the finals. Is Germany won. Brazil vs. Germany in the finals ?

I'm not sure if I'm missing a joke or something, but there are actually a lot of non-Germans that love German-style soccer and support their national soccer team because of it.EDIT: OK GUYS I GET IT, WWII. I just didn't think that had anything to do with what soccer teams you do or don't root for. Turns out I didn't miss the joke, it just wasn't funny to me.'German-style' is predominantly team based unselfish play. There is a lot of working together as a single, well oiled machine and very little individual flourish or grandstanding. It has given the german national team a reputation of cool and deadly efficacy.

The Italian team is good looking and when they work right are easily the best team you've ever seen, but 80% of the time they're the football equivalent of "waiting for the aa guy in the rain on the hard shoulder"For example, the German players look clean-cut off the pitch, but send them out there and they'll start belching diesel fumes everywhere they go.Brazil had no business hosting these Olympics. The only way it could have been a more ridiculous pick is if Syria won. What's wrong with Germany though?

I couldn't begin to imagine. They have so much corruption that I guarantee people would die putting everything together for it.Olympics also take place right at the start of European club football season and right now is on the same 4-yearly cycle as the Euro champions that finished last month.Basketball only started to allow professional NBA players on the national teams at the 1992 Olympics. That why we were able to see the "Dream Team" which consisted of the 11 best NBA players at the time (along with Christian Laettner who was one of the top NCAA players at the time).

From my understanding, the countries are required to select an under 23 team, and can then pick 3 'senior' players from outside that bracket if they so desire.A lot of famous names are missing this year because of the Euros and Copa America, most teams were unwilling to permit their players to attend 2 major tournaments in the off-season, especially as the olympics this year is late and so cuts into the start of domestic seasons.

Seawater Used for Toilets in Order to Conserves City's Scarce Freshwater Resources

Which is why allot of plumbers hate it since now a home owner can do allot of there own work. Lucky for me people are still scared of electricity.Make sure when new electricity enters your home that it goes through the onboarding process and that you give it a handbook. That way, if it doesn't follow rules, at least you can take disciplinary action.Pipes require experience to seal them well. It's a bit of an art. Electricity is more of a "make good contact and that's it" when making connections. And connections and simple work is what most homeowners do. If you're smart with cutting power electric is a lot easier without prior hands on experience.

Sure it follows rules, until the circuit starts getting complicated and then you find out that fault being indicated isn't happening and the output is fine and the fault detection circuitry is working fine ; but yep, there's the signal for the fault detection; but there's no fault in the fault detections; so I replace an entire drawer of electronics and the problem goes away; so I put the old one back in and swap each part out individually and the fault is still there; so check all of the inputs and outputs for the box and they are all fine but it's still detecting a fault!

Lol, there was someone on reddit posting about his electrical situation in Lebanon. Outages constantly, but what struck me was that he said sometimes the power used to switch between 220V and 110V without warning. Now that would suck.Agree. Once electric work is planned to code, done, and tested it is all set. Plumbing is more of a skill that takes experience and even then you find out what looked perfectly fine at first is now leaking everywhere. At least when I do it.If this is something that they've been doing for a while then chances are pretty good based on the simple fact that easily corroded pipes (iron for example) would be dissolved to nothingness already.

There are indeed plans for a desalination plant, however it would supply only a small fraction of Hong Kong's total water needs, and it's been in the planning stage for many years. The last time a desalination plant was built in Hong Kong, it was barely used and then shut down because fuel prices skyrocketed, making it uneconomical. It was eventually demolished. Hopefully the cycle doesn't repeat itself. And yet Hong Kong also has among the highest per-capita water consumption rates anywhere (220 liters per day, last I heard), and yet has some of the lowest water rates in the world (most major cities charge 5-7 times more for fresh water.)
